Raising Standards in Cardiac Care Brings Leaders Together in Mexico

From 3-8 March, the AHA was honored to join an historic gathering of health care leaders and dignitaries dedicated to elevating standards for cardiac care across Mexico.

March 2024

This assembly was a follow-up to a gathering in 2022, at which the same participants agreed to a baseline of standards in high-quality cardiac care. This event recognized 10 hospitals committed to AHA’s Get With The Guidelines® - Coronary Artery Disease initiative. At the convening, AHA recognized those hospitals for excelling in evidence-based care by collecting data on processes and patient outcomes.

Key leaders such as the Pan American Health Organization’s Ambassador to Mexico, influential Mexican health officials, the nation’s leading cardiologists and AHA volunteer Dr. Jorge Saucedo, MD, MBA, FACC, FAHA, FSCAI were all in attendance – a testament to the importance of both this collaboration and uniformity in treatment standards, which promote health equity and benefit patients no matter where they may receive care.
