The American Heart Association continued the global rollout of the 2025 Guidelines for CPR & ECC with a second wave of international events in March 2026, engaging health care leaders and educators across Europe and Asia. These forums built on earlier launch efforts, emphasizing implementation, training tools and systems of care.
The event in Bologna, Italy, included presentations on implementing Guidelines updates from Dr. Ian Drennan (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, ACLS) and Dr. Javier Lasa (Pediatric Advanced Life Support, PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program®.
Two forums were held in Mumbai and Manipal, India. Faculty within the region highlighted in-country perspectives on Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS and PALS. Faculty also addressed quality improvement and expanding certification opportunities to support consistent Guidelines adoption.
In Xi’an, China, the Greater China Annual ITC/ITS Meeting drew 619 attendees, the largest one-day event yet. Drs. Jane Wigginton and Ryan Morgan virtually presented ACLS and PALS updates, respectively. Other presenters included Drs. Neil Hu and Michael Lee and Marida Straccia, BSN, MSN, the Heart Association’s international program administration manager.
The March rollout events concluded in Munich, Germany. There, Dr. Ashish Panchal (ACLS) and Dr. Tia Raymond (PALS) focused on scientific updates that led to changes in the American Heart Association Guidelines and how real-world medical practice adapts. Additionally, Dr. Martin Mӧckel discussed the evolution of systems of care in Germany and how Guidelines updates affect the pre-hospital and in-hospital care models.
