The American Heart Association is convening a series of forums to launch the 2025 AHA Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), India, and Japan. The meetings aim to translate the latest science into lifesaving practice with a strong focus on implementation across hospitals, emergency care systems and national initiatives.
Sessions highlight system level improvements driven by education, digital innovation, community initiatives and data powered quality programs, including registries and certification pathways. Collaboration among government authorities, hospital groups and emergency care leaders underscores the commitment to advancing higher standards of care.
These forums also showcase best practices, survivor stories and emerging approaches in AI, telemedicine and new Heart Association certification programs. Regional volunteer faculty — including physicians, nurses, EMS leaders and quality experts — serve as speakers and moderators. Drs. Alexis Topjian, Michael Kurz, Beena Kamath-Rayne and DP Suresh were among the key speakers.
In MENA, more than 600 health care professionals from multiple countries across the region gathered for the training. In India, three regional trainings, in Hyderabad, Delhi and Chennai, prepared more than 1,000 instructors and promoted the 2025 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC. In Japan, 100 people gathered for training.
