2024 Guidelines for First Aid

The 2024 Guidelines for First Aid was co-developed by the American Heart Association (AHA) and the American Red Cross (ARC). These guidelines incorporate the results of structured evidence reviews from the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation and cover first aid emergencies for critical and common medical, traumatic, environmental, and toxicological conditions.

Audience

The 2024 Guidelines for First Aid represent the first comprehensive update of first aid treatment recommendations since 2010 and are intended for use by first aid instructors and students; personnel providing first aid; and first aid regulators and policy makers.
